10g plant protein from almonds and rice

protein is the structural component of all tissue in our bodies—muscles, bones, organs, nerves, skin, hair, etc.—and is also the backbone of enzymes, hormones and all the messenger molecules that enable cells to function. each zing bar has the protein equivalent of 1 ½ ounces of lean turkey or chicken, which is the ideal amount to support muscle growth, tissue repair and metabolic maintenance.

nut butters (almond, peanut, cashew, hazelnut)

why? not only do they taste great, nuts are superfoods—high in protein, fiber, heart-healthy fats as well as micronutrients like vitamin E, calcium and magnesium to support cellular metabolism. in multiple studies, consuming nuts 5 times per week has actually been shown to reduce risk of heart disease and diabetes, while also increasing lifespan by two years.

low glycemic carbs

carbs are essential for energy. the problem is most people eat carbs that spike blood sugar, like soda, candy, sweets, bread, muffins, crackers and anything containing refined flour or sugar. we use low sugar, low glycemic carbs from agave and prebiotic tapioca syrup. the result is dependable, steady energy to power your through your workout or work day.

they provide a variety of body-boosting nutrients, including fiber, potassium, B vitamins, manganese, copper, magnesium, vitamin K, and lots of vitamin C. and while vitamin C is most commonly thought of as the immunity vitamin, it also plays a significant role in skin health—vitamin C stimulates collagen synthesis and assists in antioxidant protection against UV-induced photodamage.

cashews

since an ounce of cashews provides a healthy dose of of this anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting nutrient, it stands to reason that by regularly consuming cashews, you can reduce the severity of acne.

prebiotic tapioca syrup

“prebiotic” is a fancy word for fibers that feed (“come before”) the healthy bacteria in our gut. as these healthy bacteria grow and crowd out the bad bacteria (which feed on sugar and refined carbs), digestion (and overall health) improves. prebiotics are superfood for your microbiome.

nuts

Zing bars all have a nut butter base. almonds, hazelnuts, cashews and peanuts stimulate digestion in many ways. The heart healthy fats stimulate the production of digestive secretions like bile; the fiber activates satiety receptors in our stomach which prevents overeating; the vitamin E they contain is a potent antioxidant that reduces inflammation in the gut; and the micronutrients like calcium and magnesium are essential for digestion and metabolic processes. we’re nuts about nuts!

oats

oats are high in the soluble fiber beta-glucan, which has many benefits. It helps reduce both bad (LDL) cholesterol and blood sugar levels. it also promotes the growth of healthy gut bacteria and increases feelings of fullness. phyto (plant) chemicals in oats act as antioxidants to reduce damaging effects of inflammation. oats help move everything a little more smoothly through our system.

almond and rice protein
